With just three weekends to go in the NIHL South 2 season and four teams still with a mathematical chance of taking the league title, there's still all to play for. This weekend's main event is without doubt the clash between leaders Slough and third placed Oxford; while other title contenders Solent and Chelmsford are also in action on Saturday.

After a busy schedule last weekend in which every team played at least once, this weekend is a bit calmer with just six games on the schedule. The Solent Devils are the only one of the top four in action, as they hope to pull level on points with second placed Chelmsford - provided they can win on the road against Haringey.

There were victories for title-chasing Slough, Chelmsford and Oxford last weekend, while the other side in the top four (Solent) had the weekend off. The Slough Jets reached the top of the NIHL South 2 standings last weekend, as they took a 7-3 home win over the Basingstoke Buffalo to move two points clear of previous leaders Chelmsford. This weekend, the Jets look to hold on to that top spot as they travel to Haringey for the first of five away games in a row, while both Chelmsford and Oxford look to keep touch with the Jets as they both face Bracknell, on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Last weekend could prove to be a pivotal one in the NIHL South 2 title race. While leaders Chelmsford lost in Invicta, their closest three challengers - Slough, Solent and Oxford - all won on the road, to close the gap at the top. And with Slough level on points on the Chieftains with a game in hand, which they will play on Saturday, we could have a new league leader this weekend.
